Who is your Sewist?
Hi! I’m Natalie, I am a mum of 3 based in Norfolk, UK. I started sewing when I was in high school for my GCSE’s. Then picked it back up after I had my children, which is why I named my business My little Sew. I realised the market kids clothing was incredibly bland. Black, grey and white being the most common colours. I feel clothing should be an extension of your personality, and I like to be quirky and positive, I am sure my friends would say I’m a little sarcastic too. I enjoy creating and making things, as well as being active. Once I started business I started making clothing for myself too, I’m particularly fond of the Beachcomber dresses, In summer these are my go too, and I always get compliments on them. I’m an SEN mum with a neurodiverse household so I like support and raise awareness of conditions and disorders. If you have an SEN little one and you require an adaptation to clothing, whether this is seams on the outside or Peg feed covers, ill do my best to help.
Sustainable Materials
The fabrics I use in my sewing projects are all OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 this is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances. It sets the benchmark for textile safety, from yarn to finished product.
I support other small UK based businesses where possible, from my Fabric designs to my labels. Using eco friendly packaging. Some of my items such as my scrappy pants are to help with reducing waste. Any small pieces of fabric I have left either gets used as stuffing or donated to local schools for art projects.
